Is there really some good news?
We live in a fallen world filled with hardships. We see pain, death, and injustices everywhere we turn. Yet there is good news -- in fact it is often in our pain that we are more willing to listen and look for the light. This good news is the gospel of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 puts the gospel in a nutshell and says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". God knows we needed a way back to Him because our relationship with Him has been broken by our sin. That way is through Jesus, God's son, alone. Did you know that Jesus also created all that is in heaven and earth (Colossians 1:14-23)? God the Son, the creator, became flesh (a man) so that we could be reconciled back to him. Think about that, and just how awesome and loving our creator God is. We are nothing compared to Him!
God offers us a free gift that we cannot earn because nothing we do on our own could pay the price for our sin (and no sin or sins is large enough that Jesus cannot save us from them). So salvation is not about following a set of rules, but rather trusting Jesus, our Creator, to be the Lord of our life, just as John 3:16 says. Believing in Jesus' work on the cross by asking him to be the Lord of our lives is what brings us eternal life. Are you ready to personally accept this free gift and begin your walk with Christ?
